Young Eyes Require Special Care & Attention

Young eyes change rapidly as they grow. Keeping on top of your child’s eye health is key to their success in school, healthy physical development, and overall well-being.

Blurry vision and eye issues can develop slowly, without your child even noticing them. Annual eye exams will detect all issues and aid in prompt correction or management, so your child is set up for success. Book an eye exam for your child today.

Happy Eyes Means Happy Kids

It may not be immediately apparent if your child is experiencing vision problems. Undiagnosed vision problems can be mistaken for a range of other conditions, such as learning disabilities, balance issues, behaviour disorders, and more. If you notice the following behaviours in your child, they may be suffering from compromised vision:

  • Frequent eye rubbing and excessive blinking
  • Squinting or covering/closing one eye
  • Inability to maintain eye contact
  • Balance or physical developmental issues
  • Problems concentrating
  • Headaches or dizziness
  • Academic issues
  • Otherwise unexplained clumsiness

These signs can be indicators of other issues, but it’s essential to make an eye exam appointment to rule out any prescription changes or vision concerns.

Our Eye Exams

At Infinite Eyecare, we strive to make our children’s eye exams both fun and educational.

Our exams are efficient and 100% pain-free – we have perfected our process, so we can have your child in and out of the exam chair as soon as possible while still giving them a thorough, comprehensive examination.

How often your child will require an eye exam will vary based on their medical history and whether they’re showing signs of vision problems. Assuming there’s no cause for concern, the Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends the following eye exam schedule:

  • First exam between 6 and 9 months old
  • Second exam between 2 to 5 years old
  • Annual exam between the ages of 6 to 19 years old

This was a pretty cool experience, I never really thought that I need glasses, but apparently I do need them. The process was pretty quick, you do some fun little exams at first with the staff then the doctor gives you the good old eye exam and if you pass you are good. And if not you will mostlikly need some sort of prescription. I got my prescription fairly smoothly, and right after I picked out my frames with the very supportive staff. They helped me the whole way, they gave me their honest opinions about the frames that looked better on me and some fun facts, plus they adjusted some of the pairs just to see how good they would be on me. Finally, for payment their instructions were pretty clear if there were any problems with insurance or anything like that. Overall, it took about 2 hours for me and my brother, that’s because I was picky with my frames (can’t help it, first time you know). Thanks a lot for the support Infinite Eyecare and I can’t wait for my glasses to arrive😁😁!!!
