Most vision benefit plans reset on January 1 — and for many plans, whatever coverage you haven’t used by December 31 simply doesn’t roll over into the new year. If you still have 2026 benefits available, the next few weeks are the time to use them.
What your remaining benefits can cover
Your leftover coverage may help with more than you think:
- A comprehensive eye exam
- New glasses — frames and lenses
- Contact lenses and fittings
- Prescription sunglasses
Why booking early matters
December is one of the busiest months in our clinic, and appointment times — especially evenings and Saturdays — fill quickly. Booking in October or November gives you the best choice of times, and it leaves room to order glasses or contacts and have them fitted before the holidays.
Not sure how much coverage you have left?
Call us and our team can help you check. Infinite Eyecare direct bills most major insurance providers, so for most patients there is very little paperwork to deal with.
Common questions
Do vision benefits roll over into the new year?
For most plans, no. Unused vision coverage usually expires when the plan resets on January 1, but plans differ — check yours, or ask us to help you confirm.
What can I use my vision benefits on?
Depending on your plan: eye exams, glasses, contact lenses, and prescription sunglasses are the most common.
Can you direct bill my insurance?
We direct bill most major insurers. Bring your benefits card to your appointment and we’ll handle the claim for most plans.
We’re at 4275 23 Ave NW in Mill Woods, Edmonton. Call 780-545-6000 to book your appointment.
